Mullen is an experienced accounting and finance executive who also brings perspective gained from a unique background combining accounting and laboratory sciences. Mullen most recently served as chief financial officer for Child Development Schools, Inc., a retail provider of preschools and early care centers in the Southeast, during a time in which double-digit annual revenue and cash flow growth was achieved, ultimately leading to a sell transaction to private equity. Previously, he served as the controller at Atherotech, where he managed the accounting, reimbursement, and accounts payable departments. Mullen also was an audit manager with a Big Four Accounting Firm-Ernst & Young, LLP. He earned an equivalent bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a bachelor’s degree in laboratory science from Auburn University. Mullen is a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts.
