Forrest J. Cook, Jr., serves as Vice President of Human Resources and Risk Management for NCP Solutions. Mr. Cook directs the Human Resource and Risk Management functions for the company, including compensation/benefit administration, recruitment/staffing, legal and regulatory compliance, training, policy development, and employee relations as well as corporate risk and insurance services. Cook previously served as Director of Human Resources for Healthcare Realty Management, Inc., in Birmingham, AL and Nashville, TN. He also served for five years as HR Director for PCA/Southeast Health Plans (Birmingham/Miami) and seven years in human resources with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama.
He began his career as Director of Career Planning, Placement, and Cooperative Education with Samford University in Birmingham, where he completed his undergraduate degree and did postgraduate work. Mr. Cook serves as 2003 Director of the Alabama State Council of the National Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM). He has been a 20 year member, past president, and past board member of The Birmingham Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM), as well as a longtime member of SHRM nationally, where he currently serves on a national board and volunteers as a legislative liaison and lobbyist for SHRM.
Mr. Cook has served in prior years as a member, board member and/or volunteer member of numerous civic, professional, and charitable organizations including the Alabama Healthcare Council, College Placement Association, Epilepsy Foundation, American Red Cross, Alabama Industries and Manufacturers, United Way, Birmingham Area Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham Board of Education Career Advisory Board, Alabama Association for Counseling and Development, and the Birmingham Area Private Industry Council; and has been recognized in International Who’s Who Among Professionals.
