Bharat K. Soni, Ph.D. is Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering and CFD FAPOC, DoD HPCMO PET Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Bharat K. Soni received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Statistics from the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Baroda, India in 1971 and 1974, respectively. In 1978, he completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Soni was the Grid Generation Thrust leader and a member of the research council for the NSF Engineering Research Center at MSU from 1990-96. Until, June 30, 2002, He was the Director for the Center for Computational Systems (CCS), Engineering Research Center (ERC), and a Professor of Aerospace Engineering at the Mississippi State University. Through his work at MSU, Dr. Soni has become an internationally recognized figure for his contributions in area of grid generation and computational field simulation research, and education as well as his professional service.
