Nancy McLemore studied opera in Cincinnati, OH where she landed studio work as a jingle singer. After making a start in jingle singing, one producer suggested that she do some voiceover work. The rest is history.
In Chicago, Nancy worked as a voice and on-camera talent for such clients as Motorola, Chex Snack Mix, and Encyclopedia Britannica. She currently lives in Birmingham, AL where she works from various studios and home studio via ISDN line. President George W. Bush recently heard a presentation by NASA which Nancy voiced.
In her spare time, Nancy plays stand-up bass in a five member bluegrass band called Shades Mountain Air. Other skills include tap dancing, whistling, ear prompter, thumb wrestling, juggling… etc. etc. etc.

Nancy is a classically trained musician with a heart and talent for bluegrass. She sings lead and plays stand-up bass with the group, but her diverse background includes singing opera, commercial jingles, and torch songs with big bands. She also toured Europe and the US with the Continental Singers. A native of West Monroe, LA, she was born into a musical family – all six kids have performed professionally, including brother Sid, a featured performer on the 1970’s syndicated country TV show The Gene King Show. She does great impressions and (barely) tolerates husband Greg’s torturing banjo practice sessions, as do kids Lily, 13, and Hank, 10.
